Tara Anderson

Tara Anderson is the founder and director of Showstoppers North, a youth musical theater company based in Arroyo Grande and San Luis Obispo. With over 15 years of experience in performing arts education, Tara is passionate about creating a supportive, high-energy environment where young performers can grow in confidence, creativity, and skill. She has directed dozens of youth productions and is known for her dynamic leadership, thoughtful direction, and ability to bring out the best in every performer—from first-timers to seasoned stage veterans.
A Note From Tara
If you have ever been to one of the productions I have directed over the years you know that as a child, I had the privilege of growing up in a children’s theater company in Santa Barbara called Showstoppers. The experiences I had there shaped who I am today and left an incredible impact on my love for music, theater and community. Radu, the director who shaped me, I have often called the Yoda to my Skywalker. He and his wife Marian have been a part of my life since I was four years old, and I am honored that they support this new adventure. It is my hope that by carrying on this name, Showstoppers North will inspire a new generation of young performers just as I was once inspired.
